• Cost — by an order of magnitude
• Device flexibility — works on Firestick, Apple TV, phone, laptop

• No contract — cancel anytime
• 150,000+ VOD library on top of live TV

Where cable straight loses

• Long contracts
• Hidden bundle increases after promo period
• PPV up-charges ($80-100 per UFC event)
• Limited devices
• Equipment rental fees ($10-15/month)

Our honest take

If you bundle Bell or Rogers internet + TV + mobile, cable still makes some financial sense after the bundle discount. If you have any other internet provider (Telus, Videotron, an indie ISP), cable TV is dead weight. IPTV does the job for 1/20th the cost.
